Taxonomy Turner et al. (2025: 44-46) sequenced a specimen of the type species S. cribrosa and this resulted in the transfer of the genus and species from Esperiopsidae (cf. Van Soest & Hajdu, 2002) to Halichondriidae, in a clade of mostly Hymeniacidon species. [details]
