Status G. kermadeci was removed by Barnard & Karaman, 1991 to unknown genus. Not in Gammaropsis complex because dactyl of maxilliped stubbier and lined with inner setae, head much more extended anteriorly; eyes absent, plates of maxilliped slightly reduced shape of gnathopod 2 more like Bonnierella; also not in Bonnierella because maxillipedal dactyl short, stubby and setose marginally, inner plate of maxilla 2 with medial setae, pereopods 3-4 with long curled setae on article 6, and gnathopod 1 very small.
