Classification Anguillosyllis has intermediate morphological characteristics between Exogoninae and Eusyllinae according to Aguado & San Martín (2008) [details]Diagnosis Original diagnosis by Day (1963: 400): ''Prostomium with 3 minute antennae and a pair of large pointed palps fused for half their length. A single pair of minute tentacular cirri. Pharynx straight, unarmed. Dorsal cirri long but not annulated. Ventral cirri present. Setigerous lobe of the parapodium with a contractile dorsal projection. Setae compound and falcigerous.''
