Encope michelini (oral)
Description Oral side: The food grooves of Encope michelini are finer than those of Encope aberrans. The species may therefore feed on smaller organic particles than the latter. The grooves are highly branched; deep pressure drainage channels lead into the ambulacral notches. The fields alternating with the regions along the food grooves are set with larger tubercles, carrying longer spines for locomotion. Test length 116 mm; west coast of Florida, USA.
