This paper is to record one of the sections of the Middle Carboniferous Huang-long Limestone, which is exposed at Jinsigang in the vicinity of Nanjing. The section, attaining a thickness of 79.88 m,is overlain and underlain without any obvious break by the Upper Carboniferous Chuanshan Limestone and the Lower Carboniferous Laohudong Dolomite respectively.Fusulinids are abundant in the limestone.9 genera and 43 species and subspecies are studied.According to the vertical distribution of fusulinid faunas,2 zones and 3 subzones may be recognized(in ascending order):1.The Profusulinella zone.Lying at the basal part of the Huanglong Limes-tone and being approximately equivalent to the lower part of M_a zone(Lee andChen,1930),this zone yields rich Profusulinella together with some Eofusulina and Taizehoella.Profusulinella, with a very short geological range,is confined to this zone.2.The Fusulinella-Beedeina zone. This zone is here applied to the stratigraphic section at the first appearance of Fusulinella. It may be divided (in ascending order) into 3 subzones:1)The Fusulinella praebocki subzone only contain 4 species of Fusulinella;2)The Beedeina cheni subzone begins with the occurrence of Beedeina. In this subzone, Fusulinella, apparently increasing both in individuals and in species, amounts to 6 species and Beedeina has 4 species. Besides, some new elements Ozawainella crassiformis Putrja and Pseudostaffella sphaeroidea (Ehrenberg) made their appearance; 3)The Fusulina quasicylindrica subzone commences with occurrence of Fusulina. In this subzone, Fusulina, Beedeina and Fusulinella are the important components, Fusiella is a new member, but Ozawainella vozhgalica Safonova is a very common one. Stratigraphically, the Fusulinella-Beedeina zone is approximatley corresponding to M_ß zone and the upper part of M_a zone (Lee et Chen, 1930). Two new species are described in detail in the Chinese text: Profusulinella montichomata Sheng et Wang sp.nov. is known in the Profusulinella zone, and Fusulinella microlocula Sheng et Wang sp. nov. is visible in the Fusulinella praebocki subzone.
