A new conical agglutinating foraminifera is described as Coskinolina sistanensis n. sp. from Eocene shal-low-water carbonates of the Birjand region, Sistan Suture Zone of Eastern Iran. The dimorphic tests of the new taxon are characterized by a comparably small initial spire in both generations, a small megalosphere in the A-form, a regu-lar structure of the loosely ordered straight pillars, and the low number of comparably high chambers. Within the studied section, C. sistanensis n. sp. is restricted to the middle Ilerdian to late Cuisian based on alveolinids, nummu-litids, and orthophragminids (SBZ 8–12).
