Many taxa of small benthic Foraminifera were described in Aquitaine (SW France) in the Oligocene and Miocene since d'Orbigny's publication 1826 who cited in the same area a great number of new species. In about thirty papers, from 1868 until 1993, 81 taxa : genera, species and subspecies have been described.The present author attempted to find them again in the Aquitaine exposures, and when possible, she gives a brief description of the recovered specimens and figured them. She failed to recover some of the most formerly described taxa of account of the inaccurate descriptions and figures, the imprecision of the locations or sometimes the wrong age.A great bibliographic research has been made and the collection of the National Museum of Natural History reviewed when necessary.Moreover, one species and one subspecies previously figured but not described by the present author are described here.
