The late Chattian shallow-water algal biosparite sequence observed at the lower part of the Sogukp?nar section, Ah?r mountain, N Maras, eastern Mediterranean region, yielded numerous foraminiferal species, namely, Marasella ahirdagensis n.gen. n.sp., Miogypsinella complanata (Schlumberger), M. borodinensis Hanzawa, M. akcadagensis (Gedik & Sirel), Miogypsinoides cf. formosensis (Yabe & Hanzawa), Miogypsina sp., Risananeiza pustulosa Boukhary, Kuss & Abdelraouf, Nephrolepidina morgani (Lemoine & Douvillé), Eulepidina dilatata (Michelotti), Nummulites vascus (Joly & Leymerie), N. sp., Victoriella conoidea (Rutten), Operculina complanata (Defrance), Spiroclypeus tidoenganensis van der Vlerk, Heterostegina sp. and Amphistegina sp. The miogypsinid genus Marasella n.gen. (type species Miogypsinoides grandipustulus Cole) is described here and some of the associated species are only figured. In addition the rotaloid species Risananeiza pustulosa Boukhary, Kuss & Abdelraouf is re-described.
