The Lower Permian is well developed and widespread in southeastern Hunan. It is rich in smaller foraminiferal fauna associated with fusulinid (Staffella) in the Liudong section of Baohetang, Shaodong County, Hunan Province, which comprises 62 species (including 2 new species) of 19 genera as listed below: Glomospira ishimbaica Lipina, Tolypammina fortis Reitlinger, T. mikhailovi (Reitlinger), T. baohetangensis sp. nov., Eotuberitina reitlingerae A. D. M-Maclay, E. sphaera Lin, Neotuberitina maljavkini (Mikhailov), Palaeotextularia lata Chernysheva, P gibbsaeformis (Reitlinger), P. primitiva (Reitlinger), P. simplex Morozova, P. longiseptate Lipina, P. bella Lipina, P. oblonga Rauser et Reitlinger, P. longlinensis Lin, Li et Sun, Deckerella clavata Cushman et Waters, D. media bashkirica Morozova, Climacammina elegantula Reitlinger, C. nelumforma (Lee et Chen), C. lagenalis Lange, C. prisca Lipina, C. parastiloforma Lin, Li et Sun, C. Ziguiensis Lin, C. infundibula (Lee et Chen), cribrogenerina nana Lin, C. obesa Lane, C. celebrata Lin, C. hemisphaera Lin, Li et Sun, C. permica Lange, C. inepta Lin, C. climacamminoides Lange, Tetratraxis minuta Morozova, T. minima latispiralis Reichel, T. hemiovoides Morozova, Globivalvulina graeca Reichel, G. cyprica Reichel, G. kantharensis Reichel, G. bulloides (Brady), Endothyra? hemievoluta Lin, Plectogyra irrgularis E. J. Zeller, P. advena (Durkina), P. expressa (Ganelina), Endothyranella gracilis (Waters), Bradyina cf. samarica Reitlinger, Neodiscus longus (Grozdilova), N. ovatus (Grozdilova), Multidiscus semiconcavus Wang, Nodosaria netschajewi Techerdynzev, N. lona Lipina, N. mira sp. nov., N. tenuiseptata Lipina, N. mirabils Lipina, N. xintanensis Lin , N. aceraeformis Lin, Li et Zheng, N. longissima Suleimanov, N. wjatkensis Techerdynzev, N. sumatrensis rosstca K. M.-Maclay, Pseudoglandulina conicula Wang, P. paraconica K. M.-Maclay, P.sp., Geinitzina pusilla Grozdilova, G.? linguliformis Lipina. This fauna possesses very typical characteristics of mixture of teh Carboniferous-Permian foraminiferal faunas, which is called the Bradyina-Geinitzing Assemblage by the author. It is the first discovery of the Lonlin Stage in Hunan. By studying the smaller foraminifers, this article furnishes new data for researching the early Early Permian biostratigraphy and palaeontology in Southeastern Hunan.
