Taxonomic remark J. Pignatti (2022) pers. comm. kindly brought to our attention that according to the principle of coordination of the ICZN (1999), Globoendothyroidea Reitlinger in Voloshinova & Reitlinger, 1959 has priority in respect to Septabrunsiinoidea Colpaert & Vachard in Colpaert et al., 2017.
As the Globoendothyridae are only very advanced forms of the superfamily, both microstructurally and morphologically speaking, we prefer denominate the superfamily according to the ancestral family which possesses all the potential growth characters of the group: e.g. wall type, juvenarium, more or less developed septa or pseudosepta.
The superfamily Globoendothyroidea has never been described except a quotation in Krainer and Vachard (2015, p. 218), in application of the article 35.5 of the ICZN, we suggest to keep Septabrunsiinoidea as the name of the superfamily, Septabrunsiinoidea is in prevailing usage. [details]
