Original description Definition: Tournayelloidea with thick agglutinated wall and with an early stage coiled followed by a secondary stage uncoiled uni- or biseriate and more or less regular.
Range: Abundant in the Tethyan Realm, very rare or absent in the Gondwanan and North American realms. Known from Lower Visean to Upper Permian, discovered in the Triassic.
