Original description Diagnosis. Medium-sized shell of elongated to swollen fusiform shape; its spiral is coiled compara- tively tight and regularly. The keriothecal spirotheca is smooth or sinuous, with well-developed rugosity of the tectum. In the septal fluting, the folds, as a rule, are not high and less intense in the shell’s middle part. The positioning of the narrow tunnel in the volutions is unstable. The chomata is of the rudimentary type and the axial fillings are well developed.
Comparison. The Benshiella genus differs from all other genera of the Rugosofusulinidae family by its well-developed and (usually) massive axial fillings.
Occurrence: Asselian. Iran, South China.
(Leven in Leven and Gorgij (2009)).
