Taxonomic remark Cushman (1924, p 40): "This species has been confused with S. reticulata (Czjzek) and S. fimbriata (Reuss), but is distinct from either. Even in the young stages it has the tubular projections of the surface which become more prominent with age. Some of Brady's figures under Truncatulina reticulata Czjzek resemble this in some ways, but do not show the spinose projections. Brady has 2 species on his plate 96 under this name. Figure 8 of that plate is from Challenger station 24 off Culebra Island, West Indies, and represents Siphonina pulchra Cushman."
Later Cushman (1927) included the figures 5-7 from Brady's plate 96 under S. tubulosa and created the new species S. bradyana including the fig. 8 from Brady's plate 96. [details]
