Diagnosis Test elongate, early stage triangular and triserial, later with relatively low chambers in a loose spiral, chambers gradually becoming broader and fewer per whorl, until each chamber extends more than half the distance around the test, but is not completely uniserial; wall coarsely agglutinated, thick, canaliculate, surface roughly finished; aperture terminal and ovoid, with a distinct tooth that because of the spiralling nature of the terminal chamber projects obliquely within the chamber cavity. M. to U. Eocene (Lutetian to Bartonian); France: Paris Basin; USA: Florida; New Zealand. (Loeblich & Tappan, 1987, Foraminiferal Genera and Their Classification) [details]
