Description Р.
(Rauzer-Chernousova et al. (1996)).
Test medium to large, spherical with protruding or drawn-out poles, ovoid or inflated-fusiform, in the juvenarium - fusiform, to varying degrees elongated, sometimes flattened; proloculus small; the coiling in the juvenarium is tight, later free, expanding unevenly; wall thin with an external tectorium in the juvenarium, uniformly thickening in the inner whorl and sharply in the two outer whorls; Septa usually thin, sometimes with additional deposits in the juvenarium, wavy or weakly folded in the inner whorls (including juvenile whorls), moderately folded in the outer whorls, arches of varying heights, rounded, turning into wavy lines and irregularly fluted along the axis; chomata in juvenile whorls small but distinct, sometimes asymmetrical, in the outer whorls inconstant, pseudochomata often present; aperture narrow in the inner whorls, moderate or wide in the following ones. Lower Permian (Asselian and lower part of the Sakmarian); Southern Europe (Carnic Alps), Central Asia (Tien Shan, Darvaz). Japan, North America (Northern California). Differs from the genus Schwagerina in having a denser juvenarium due to folding and epithelial formations. [details]

Description Diagnosis- Test medium to large, inflated fusiform to subspherical, a small proloculus followed by tightly coiled inner two to three volutions that form a small juvenarium, spirotheca thin, composed of tectum and fine alveolar keriotheca, septa irregularly fluted at the base, chomata small and rudimentary in mature volutions.
Distribution- Lower Permian (middle to upper Asselian), Carnic Alps, Central Asia, South China and Japan.
