N1  - Samples of hydromedusae were collected by Research Vessel "Dongfanghong" from the Taiwan Bay in December 1987. These medusae were identified to be a new genus (Latitiara) and two new species (Latitiara orientalis, Eucheilota taiwanensis). All type specimens are deposited in the Department of Oceanography, Xiamen University. Descriptors: Latitiara orientalis new genus new species; Eucheilota taiwanensis new species figs 1-2.
