Identification Anadara kagoshimensis (Tokunaga, 1906) is the valid name for an invasive species in the Mediterranean and Black Sea. It has earlier been misidentified and reported under the names Scapharca cornea and Anadara inaequivalvis. Anadara cornea (Reeve, 1844) and Anadara inaequivalvis (Bruguière, 1789) are two valid species that do not occur in the Mediterranean and Black Sea, neither as a native nor as an introduced species. [details]
