Illustrated descriptions of eight taxa of species rank of Ampharete similar to Ampharete finmarchica, five based on type materials, including Ampharete britayevi sp.n., others based on topotypes. A key for their identification is provided. Based on morphological data, it is proposed to erected [sic] these species as Ampharete (superspecies finmarchica). Of the 8 species in the superspecies, seven inhabit the Northern Pacific and one (A. kerguelensis) the Southern Hemisphere, therefore, it is likely that this group is of North Pacific origin, different species of which arose in different biomes.
