AB  - The study treats the abyssal species of the family Lumbrineridae collected by the Centre Océanologique de Bretagne. The material was collected in the Mediterranean Sea in 1970-71 (Polymède) and in the Atlantic Ocean from 1971 to 1976 (Walda, Biogas I-IV, Norbi and Incal). Ten eurybathyal and five bathyal or abyssal specis are reported from great depths. Three of them are new to science. two genera, <i>Lumbrinerides</i> and <i>Lumbrineriopsis</i>, are reviewed and three shallow water species are redescribed as new species as a consequence of this revision.
