Taxonomy The origin of this name combination is unclear. It was used by Pawson et al. as if Lyman had described in Ophiozonella, but he used Ophiozona, which today is a junior synonym of Ophiolepis. Since O. antillarum is a deep water species, Ophiozonella is likely the correct designation, but a formal revision appears not to have been published. [details]
