Silicified specimens of a new species of ostracode, Kellettina prolata, occur in the Boggs limestone unit (Atokan) in Muskingum County, Ohio. Christopher et al. noted the occurrence of this species from the Boggs unit, but lacked the specimens to formalize the new species. Acidized samples have provided the necessary specimens to substantiate the proposal of a new species. The specimens were collected from an exposure of the Boggs limestone in a roadcut on the east side of Ohio Rte. 146, on the east side of the Dillon Reservoir (UTM 17TMQ07422913, 40 degree 00'33"N, 82 degree 05'04"W), approximately 13.5 km northwest of Zanesville, east cent. NW one fourth , sec. 2, Falls Twp., Muskingum County, Dresden 7 one half '-quadrangle (GSO #16866). Type specimens have been deposited in The Orton Museum, The Ohio State University (OSU), Columbus
