All available materials on Mesozoic ostracodes, occuring in Russia and adjacent regions are summarized. Information on basic directions of ostracoda studying in world practice is stated. Development of the group in the Mesozoic in marine and continental inhabitance are characterized. Recommendations for using ostracoda in biostratigraphy are offered. Advanced or first developed zonal ostracod schems (sic) as examples for the Lower and Middle Triassic, Upper Jurassic and Cretaceous are given. The items of Mesozoic ostracod systematics are discussed, the classification is given in view of the autors' (sic) new works and also taking into consideration foreign researchs (sic); diagnoses of the main taxa are given. All photoes (sic) given in the paleontological tables are executed on electronic microscope, including reillustrations of type species of the genera established earlier by Russian researchers and published before only as drawings. The book is intended for paleontologists and geologists of other specialities (sic) as well as for students of geological high schools.
