Taxonomy The name Dolioletta was first coined as a subgenus name by Borgert, 1894 for a group of species of the genus Doliolum which included the type species Doliolum denticulatum Quoy & Gaimard. According to the rules of the ICZN (art. 44.1), the subgenus which includes the type species of the genus would have to take an identical name as that of the genus, in this case Doliolum (Doliolum). Garstang subsequently assigned a different species, Doliolum gegenbauri as the type species of Dolioletta and raised the subgenus to generic rank. This action violates the Code and needs to be corrected.  [details]
