Spelling Note that, if the recombination is accepted, 'campanulatus' is not the masculine form of campanula, hence the new spelling is dubious. If campanula was a feminine adjectival indication of bell-like, then the masculine would be campanulus. The spelling campanulatus is the masculine of the spelling campanulata. There are many more campanulata/us names than campanula/us names, perhaps hence the confusion [G.Read, Nov 2017]. [details]
