Etymology The specific epithet stremma is an Ancient Greek word meaning 'sprain', 'dislocation' or 'that which is twisted, thread', and refers to the body shape of the species, "The body is very long and thin with a smooth, thick cuticle, inconspicuous parapodia, and slight intersegmental annulations, giving it a particular thread-like appearance for which is named" (Pearson, 1970: 70). Habitat Soft sediments, consisting in different mixes of gravel, sand, silt and clay, at subtidal depths. [details]
