Status Erected for A. sulcaticeps, this genus was said by Orensanz (1990) to be a senior synonym of Lumbrineriopsis Orensanz 1973. He proposed however that Aotearia be declared invalid (p. 76) under the then article 23b. This was not correct, and regardless, the current code prevailing usage article (23.9.1) does not allow this.
