Diagnosis Original diagnosis from Hartmann-Schröder (1977: 149): "Prostomium pentagonal, with paired frontal antennae and two biarticulate palps; eyes absent. Tentacular segment (peristomium) achaetous and apodous; four pairs of tentacular cirri with distinct cirrophores. Parapodia of first setigers uniramous, notopodium represented by dorsal cirrus only. Dorsal cirri at base of notopodia. Notopodia with single ligule. Neuropodia with conical acicular lobes and lower ligules. Ventral cirri tapered. Notosetae homogomph spinigers and falcigers. Neurosetae homogomph and heretogomph spinigers and heterogomph falcigers. Pygidium unknown. Pharynx with paired jaws, without paragnaths or papillae." [details]
