Distribution Mediterranean Sea: Gulf of Naples (Italy). [details]
Etymology The specific epithet peremptoria is a Latin adjective meaning 'decisive' or 'peremptory', and refers to the clear way that the tentacular cirri are distributed along the anterior segments of the species: "cette espèce [...] résout d'une manière décisive le mode de distribution des cirres tentaculaires sur les premiers segments du corps. De là le nom que j'ai donné à l'espèce" (Claparède, 1870: 459). [details]
Habitat Not stated in the original description. Type material collected during the winter 1868-1869. [details]
Taxonomy Fauvel (1923: 199) considered the species as indeterminable, stating that it was probably based on a juvenile of Phyllodoce. Hartman (1959: 144) and Pleijel (1991: 253) also stated that it was a nomen dubium. [details]
