Etymology The specific epithet aciculatus is a Latin adjective meaning 'aciculate' or 'having aciculae', and refers presumably to the presence of notopodial spines in the three pre-anal segments as well as on the anal plate. [details]
Habitat In sand, in the intertidal zone. [details]
Type locality Umm Al-Maradim Island, Kuwait, Persian Gulf (28°40'N, 48°37'E; provided location slightly displaced, corrected here to 28.68, 48.65), intertidal zone, in sand. [details]
