Taxonomy According to Hartman (1961) this subspecies differs from the stem subspecies in being much smaller, usually less than 20, instead of 100 mm long, the prostomium eyes are moderately conspicuous in all growth stages, and it occurs in deep, instead of estuarine, habitats, and in depths to at least 637 meters. [details]
