Status This species was considered a junior synonym of Eunice aphroditois (Pallas, 1788) by Miura (1986). Fauchald (1992) reviewed this synonym and considered Eunice flavopicta Izuka, 1885 as a valid species. Shinomiya et al (2023) included E flavopicta under their Eunice cf. aphroditois, but stated E. flavopicta would be the valid name if their E. cf. aphroditois was distinct from the E. aphroditois of Pallas.
