The author is the first to describe the copulatory organs of Pisione remota (Southern) a polychaete found within the mesopsammon in the eastern coasts of Sicily. Such organs are quite different from those of a species living in the Indian Ocean, that had been erroneously classified as P. remota, whereas it is really a new species, P. alikunhii sp. n. The author is also the first to give a description of the copulatory organs for some specimens from Banyuls-sur-Mer, that appear to be attributable to P. puzae Siewing
