In collections of so-called archiannelids (Polygordiidae, Saccocirridae, Protodrilidae, Nerillidae, Dinophilidae) made in 1972 and 1973 in the intertidal and upper subtidal of the Galapagos Islands, 11 species belanging to the 5 families known are determined. All are truly interstitial Polychaeta living in sandy beaches, shell gravel and coarse sediments of the shallow subtidal. Four species and one subspecies are new to science; four species were determined to the genus level, only. We identify the two remaining species with species known already from other regions. Data on the distribution and zonation of some of the species in the beaches of the archipelago are given.
