Etymology The species is named after K. Rangarajan, "in recognition of his publications on Indian polychaetes, and especially because he described the first species of Cabira from India" (Mandal , 2007: 27). [details]
Habitat Fine sand, muddy sand, and silty clay, at subtidal depths, in a salinity range of 33-34 ppt. [details]
Type locality Indian Ocean, Arabia Sea, India, Goa, off Marmagoa (15º25'00''N, 73º43'00''E), at 20 m, on muddy sand. [details]
