Etymology The specific epithet sampadae refers to the Fishery Oceanographic Research Vessel 'Sagar Sampada', ''which has been the backbone of marine biological research in India since 1984'' (Gopal et al., 2015). [details]
Habitat Coralline sandy sediments, between 52-57 m depth, with a dissolved oxygen content of 2.7-3.9mlL-1, temperature of 27.1-28.2ºC, and salinity of 32.7-33.4‰. [details]
Type locality Off Rutland Island, Andaman Islands, Andaman Sea, Indian Ocean (11º28.038'N, 92º43.268'E), 57 m, in coralline sandy sediments. [details]
