The small number of species described in this paper belong to the sub-family Lopadorhynchinae. No species of this small and imperfectly known group has hitherto been recorded from the British marine area, a fact which is easily accounted for by the rarity and inaccessibility of the members composing it. The specimens were obtained at considerable depths off the west coast of Ireland, and the only forms occurring with any frequency in the plankton were the two species of Pelagobia.
