Salazar-Vallejo (2017) presents this version of the story: "In Greek mythology, Hesione is mostly regarded as a famous Trojan Lady, daughter of King Laomedon, who offered her life as a compensation to Poseidon after the God had sent a monster to destroy the city. However, Laomedon also asked Heracles for help and if he could save Troy, Hesione would be his wife. She was left naked on the rocks in a sea cliff out of Troy.
