Editor's comment The genus Paratyposyllis seems to have been described with base on incomplete or damaged specimens belonging probably to the genus Syllis Lamarck, 1818. [details]
Etymology The genus name Paratyposyllis is composed by the name of the genus Typosyllis Langerhans, 1879, preceded by the Greek prefix para-, meaning 'beside', 'near' or 'resembling', and refers to the similarity between both genera. [details]
