Homonymy Eunice tentaculata Kinberg, 1865, is a senior primary homonym to E. tentaculata Quatrefages, 1865, which was renamed Eunice laticeps by Ehlers. [details]
Type locality Between Sumatra and Borneo, latitude -2.5 deg, longitude107.1666 deg, clearly originally stated by Kinberg as "Mare pacificum, long, orient. 107 10' lat. austr. 2 30', in fundo 48 orgyiarum" According to Fauchald (1992:316) Hartman (1948: 76) wrongly gives the longitude as West. She repeats this error by giving Clipperton Island in the eastern Pacific as the type locality in the 1959 catalogue. This indeed seems to be a misunderstanding, as the latitude would not match, nor would the ship voyage track of the Eugenie expedition. [details]
