Spelling As well as the incorrect genus spelling Örsted uses an uncommon spelling of 'coecum' for the correct 'caecum', which means blind. The Code in Article 58 regards both 'ae' and 'oe' spellings as the same for homonymy determinations. Also there is a gender agreement issue. Örsted used the genus misspelling Leucodorum (presumably a neuter form) and 'coecum' to agree with that neuter form, but he should have used Leucodore and 'coecus' to agree with the masculine form created by Johnston.
