Spelling Amphicteis brevispinis is misspelled as 'brivispinis' in Grube's text but spelled as 'brevispinis' as expected in the figure captions. Subsequent authors ignored the misspelling and used 'brevispinis'. Grube describes the paleal spines as "latius spiniformes, breviter acuminatae, radiantes, protinus versae", thus brevis (= short) was intended as the spelling of the first word of the adjectival species name and the 'brivispinis' is due to a printer's error. Article 32.5.1 for correcting incorrect original spellings applies, and Amphicteis brevispinis is the required original spelling. The Hartman catalogue (p.483) also appears to have noticed the incorrect original spelling, but compounds the error by reporting it as being 'brispinis' [details]
