a dorsal fold, I consider [Moyanus] a synonym of Melinna, and not Melinnopsis. This is an informal synonymy in text flow. The only Moyanus species is not recombined.

Synonymy Moyanus has few usages, and Day (1964) regarded it as 'doubtful'. The Hartman (1959) catalogue has Moyanus as valid, but Hartman (1960: 158) later appears to place Moyanus Chamberlin as a synonym of Melinnexis Annenkova, 1931, although she does not do this formally. This is clearly impossible due to priority of the former name, but it may justify synonymy of Moyanus with Melinnopsis McIntosh, 1885, to which Melinnexis is a synonym. Jirkov (2026) most recently places Moyanus Chambelin as a synonym of Melinna as "due to the presence of hooks and a dorsal fold, I consider [Moyanus] a synonym of Melinna, and not Melinnopsis. This is an informal synonymy in text flow. The single species Moyanus explorans is not mentioned. [details]
