Etymology authors: "The species is named for the character of the branchiae" This is not an explanation of much use as there are 4 pairs of branchiae, and 'tri' means three. Lysippe trichobranchia is evidently named for the arrangement of the branchiae, with on each side three branchiae grouped anterior to a fourth. [details]
