Taxonomy Salazar-Vallejo (2012) reported that the only type material obtainable is a slide of some chaetae (cephalic cage chaetae and neurohooks from anterior chaetigers, but later he states "The type material of Stylarioides eruca indica, originally deposited in Calcutta, was not available" Instead Salazar-Vallejo assigns some Bay of Bengal specimens found in the LACM to Fauvel's former Stylarioides eruca indica.
