Type locality Described from the coasts of "I'île de Gorée, en Zélande". Interpreted as ?Goeree, the Netherlands (Chambers & Mackie, 1997). João Gil pers. comm. April 2020: "The only region in the world named ‘Zélande’ (or similar) having an ‘Île de Gorée’ is, in fact, The Netherlands, which up to the middle of the 18th century had a Goeree Island, in the region of Zeeland (gazetteer estimate 51.827°, 3.904°), and which from 1751 was connected to the close island of Overflakkee, making what is nowadays the Goeree-Overflakkee Island."  [details]
