Etymology Not stated. The specific epithet peristomialis is composed by the noun 'peristomium' followed by the Latin suffix -allis, used to form adjectives of relationship from nouns or numerals, and presumably refers to the unique peristomium of the species, described as "having its lateral parts prolonged into cirriform processes at the anteroectal edge" (Hartman, 1976: 227).
