Etymology The species is dedicated to Thomas H. Perkins, from the Marine Research Laboratory, Florida Department of Natural Resources, who first described and illustrated the species as Sphaerosyllis longicauda. [details]
Habitat On rocks, coarse cobble, and coarse sand, intertidal to subtidal. [details]
Type locality Northwest Atlantic, USA, Massachusetts, Falmouth, Nobska Pt. (41º31'N, 70º39'W). [details]
