Haswell (1885) states "This species is to be found in great abundance adhering to the stems and fronds of certain sea-weeds at a depth of 10 or 12 fathoms in Port Jackson. I have also found it, though very rarely, adhering to the under surface of large blocks of stone a little below low-water mark." [details]
