Habitat Muddy sand between mid-tide level and high water mark, in situations where brackish conditions may occur. In vertical burrows (2 to 5 cm deep) in muddy sand between the levels of mid-tide and high water mark, in zones where it is likely that the salinity is lowered considerably after heavy rain as a result of the land surface drainage.
