Etymology The species is named after Carl (or Karl) Georg Lucas Christian Bergmann (b. Göttingen, 18 May 1814 - d. Geneva, 30 April 1865), German anatomist, physiologist and biologist, who collected the type material of the species in Iceland, in 1846. [details]
